Filippo Trevisi wins the EAWE Excellent Young Wind Doctor Award

Filippo Trevisi has been awarded the EAWE Excellent Young Wind Doctor Award for his PhD thesis "Conceptual Design of Windplanes".
The award, granted annually by the EAWE (European Academy of Wind Energy), recognizes outstanding doctoral dissertations in wind energy. It is given to young researchers whose theses are highly relevant to the advancement of wind power, with a clear impact on the future development and/or implementation of wind energy technologies.

This marks the first time that a thesis in the field of Airborne Wind Energy has received this award, as well as the first time it has been awarded to research conducted at an Italian university. Trevisi completed his PhD at the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology at the Politecnico di Milano.
The thesis lays down a new fundamental theory for windplanes, an emerging technology to harvest wind energy. Written as a fully self-contained work - like a textbook - it is conceived to be understood by technical readers without prior knowledge of Airborne Wind Energy.
